Ross-shire Waste Action Network (RoWAN) works with communities in Ross-shire and Inverness-shire on waste awareness and waste prevention activities. We encourage and support householders, schools and businesses to reduce the amount of waste created and sent to landfill. This is achieved by:
- raising awareness of the waste issue
- providing practical support to reduce waste
- promoting more sustainable waste management
- working closely with other like-minded organisations
- documenting and promoting project experience, to allow other communities to build upon successes and lessons learned
- researching good practice elsewhere
Established in April 2001 by a group of like minded individuals, RoWAN runs projects and workshops to engage communities and encourage recycling, reducing, reusing and repairing.
RoWAN is a member the Community Recycling Network for Scotland (CRNS).
